Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

A Behavior Technician (BT) works one-on-one with children receiving

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to help implement their individualized

treatment plans. In this role, you will work under the close and ongoing supervision of a

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or qualified clinical supervisor. As a BT,

you will support children in building important skills and reducing behaviors

that may interfere with learning, communication, safety, and daily life.

Here are some duties you can expect to find in an RBT position description:

  • Collecting data on clients’ behaviors through direct observation.

  • Implementing treatment goals and behavior intervention strategies as directed by the supervising clinician.

  • Teaching clients the specific skills outlined in their treatment plans.

  • Supporting the development of communication, social, play, and daily living skills.

  • Providing feedback to supervisors regarding client progress and session performance.

  • Communicating professionally with parents and caregivers as directed by the clinical team.

  • Maintaining professionalism, reliability, and consistency in all therapy sessions.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Be willing to complete required training before and during employment.

  • Be able to work under supervision and follow treatment directions accurately.

  • Be willing to undergo a background check.

  • Have a genuine interest in working with children and families.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, patience, consistency, and a willingness to learn.

  • RBT certification is preferred but not required for this position.

Pay rate: $18 [training / entry-level]
